Geof was invited to the 100th anniversary party for the LSU chemical engineering department. Geof was invited as an Emeritus Professor. We are ready for the big dinner.

We saw lots of our old friends like Dave and Margarite Wetzel and Frank and Mary Groves. Actually, we hadn't met Mary Groves before. Frank remarried after his wife Margaret, whom we remember fondly from our days in Baton Rouge, died.

Greg and Nancy Griffin.

Rose Wesson.

Paul and Penny Rodriguez.

We went by to see Lanny Daigle to scope out invitations for Jerry and Caitlin's wedding. This is Zella, Lanny's office manager.

This is Lulu.

It was good to see Lanny. We missed Katie!

Judy and Geof ate their way through Baton Rouge. Here we are at Mike Anderson's with etoufee and oysters on the half shell.

We want to go back on Tuesday!

Many houses still showed damage from Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. The blue tarps on the roofs were everywhere.

On the LSU campus.

We had to go to the center of campus to check on the beautiful oak trees.

We stopped in to see what Paul Rodriguez had been doing. Here is the Baja Mini car that the mechanical engineering students built (with Paul's help.)

Paul has many new machines for the shop. This is a computer controlled mill.

Paul was eager to show off the water jet cutter.

We saw Frank and Mary again touring the shop facilities.

At the sugar kettle in front of Chemical Engineering.

The Juban's menu.

Hallelujah Crab. How could Geof resist?

Judy pauses before enjoying her food.

There is a new shopping center in Baton Rouge. We drove by to take a look and found this store.

We met the Eastman's...

...and the Earlywine's at Ralph and Kacoo's for lunch. We had a great visit! The gals were chatting so much, the waitress tried 3 times to take our order. We stayed there for 2.5 hours!

A new Cabela's has opened up on the way down toward New Orleans from Baton Rouge. We went to visit, and it makes Bass Pro Shop look like Bass Amateur Shop.

We also got to visit with Reggie Douglas after church on Sunday. We support Reggie in the mission field. He works with Jews for Jesus as one of their chief stewards.
