We hired a new Youth Pastor at our church, Aaron Randolph. We hosted a party for him to welcome him.

The traditional smoked pig was on the menu.

Joey keeps Sheba away.

Joey lets Sheba just get a peek. Actually, Sheba was afraid of the pig.

Geof and Judy wishing it would not be rude to help ourselves before the guests arrive.

Friends arrive, and predicatably, they sit down to eat.

Watch this scene..... there is just one child (Landon Chew) on the bench in the background....

Lots of the youth came to welcome Aaron.

Kids of all sizes!

Remember that scene earlier? Now there are the Hannah, Rachel, and Abigail Averitt, along with Sarah Biggs.... and Mary Johnson, Danna and Ted Giovi!

Aaron talked to the kids. He is in the upper left corner of the picture.

Charlie Biggs, chairman of the search committee that identified Aaron as their choice, sits with Aaron.

Judy got several people to come out for a bike ride one Saturday. Actually, it was the Saturday Pastor Ben Averitt was riding in the Hotter 'n Hell 100 in Wichita Falls, TX. This is the Averitt gang minus Pastor Ben. We only rode 5 miles.

Blake Cornell from the church needed a clown costume for a clown ministry project. Judy was teaching him to sew.

Garrison Chew, Blake's close friend, came over to help and learn, too.

Judy knited hats and scarves for the Coffey girls, Kate and Emily, for Chinese New Year. How precious they are!

David was baptized by Pastor Averitt last Christmas. Grandma Florene was visiting and it was a good time to be baptized. The water, however, was freezing cold, and it was a very cold Sunday morning. Joey (who also experienced a cold water baptism) suggested that Davey shake like a dog when he came up out of the water.

Judy organized a Fall Festival this year, and here are Aaron, Ben, and Dennis judging the chili cookoff. Geof's chili didn't win "best overall"   prize, but he won the "most unusual" prize for his duck chili!

Judy and Geof went to a Golden Heirs (everyone in the church who is over 50) Christmas dinner.

Judy is participating in a game. She has to put a bag over her head, and she is not too happy about it.

We are all old folks, and it was hard to hear with a bag rattling over your head.

We hosted the appetizer portion of an all-church progressive dinner at or house this year.

More of the guests at the Progressive Dinner.

Judy is cutting up a smoked turkey we prepared for a party where we were interviewing a candidate for a the youth pastor's job.

Judy's mom was visiting for the party.

Guests have arrived! On the left are Jack and Bonnie Hespelt. They co-teach our middle school Sunday school class with us. On the right is Xan Black. She has faithfully worked with the high school girls for years.

Sheba was unhappy she was left out.

Sarah Biggs.

The group of visitors listens to the candidate.

The guy in the green shirt is interviewing and his wife is in the pink blouse next to him. We forgot their names! He was not the top candidate.

All the kids liked him, though!
