Brasilla 2007

This was my room in Brasilia. This was the living room. Behind the curtain was a balcony. No wi-fi, but they provided a patch cord for broadband. I couldn't reach the AC to figure out how to control the temperature.

This was a small kitchen area. It had a fridge, but no coffee maker. Maybe that should go on the "room requirements" list. So far, we have.... wi-fi or broadband, dry bathroom floors, bathtub, hair dryer (for Marival), and no spiders.

My beds.

A nice shower, but no tub.

We didn't get out of the hotel. The meeting rooms were on the top floor, and had a great view of the main boulevard.

The dome is a museum. The funny shaped building next to it is a cathedral, but this is the top of the cathedral. The buildings next to that are government buildings. Brasilia is the capital of Brazil.

Brasilia is a planned city. Everything is divided up into sectors. The hotels are in the hotel sector. There are some residential sectors. There is a commercial sector (where retail shops are). In the background, you can see a lake. It is man made.

Here's a better view of the lake surrounding the south part of the city.

When I first entered the elevator, I noticed that the ground floor button was at my eye level. My room was on the 10th floor (the button that is lit up). The meeting rooms were on the 16th floor. It was about as high as I could reach. Any higher, and I would have needed a tall person to walk with me all the time.
