We made a couple of different trips to St. Louis this year to visit Jerry and watch him play ball. This was a stuffed bear at the hotel we were staying in. We like to stay at this place, because we get great deals on the rooms through Hotwire. |
This is at the St. Louis City Museum. It's a children's museum, but is fun for all ages! |
There was an aquarium in the museum. |
Joey always goofs around! |
A whole bunch of turtles warming themselves under the lamp. |
There are all sorts of nooks and crannies to climb at this place. |
There was a little shop where shoelaces of all colors were made, and you could watch the machines weaving them. |
Judy needed a new set of shoe strings. University of Tulsa colors! |
So long to the old ones! |
This bird was the craziest thing you've ever seen. Jerry tried to touch it and it went bonkers. Watch the video in the video section of this CD. |

Hmm... What are the turtles doing? As soon as the boys saw this, the camera phones went berserk! |
Dave slides down a plexiglas tube that runs through the water. |
Here comes Dad, feet first. |
Dave stands inside a compartment that is inside a tank where fish are. |
Judy tries on the underwater gear. She was the only one small enough to fit inside. |
The boys are sitting in front of the world's largest underpants -- with a 100 inch waistband! |
One of the goofy things around the museum. |
There were bars near the gift shop. While mom is shopping, Davey looks like he's in jail! |
Please!!! Get me outta here! Make mom shop faster! |
This is at Wash U. and is known as the big dig. It will be an underground parking garage. |
This was a visit when we went over for Jerry's birthday. We took Jerry and some of his college buddies out to dinner. |
Dinner was at Friday's. Note the decor. |
It seems like just yesterday that this was a little baby. Here he is, practically grown up! |
This is at Jerry's freshman dorm. |
We went over to a Lewis and Clark museum in a little, renovated town, St. Charles, that is a suburb of St. Louis. This is a model of the fort. |
Decendents of William Clark. |
Joey is goofing around as usual. |
There was an exhibit of the medicines that Lewis and Clark would have had for their adventure. |
The museum is on the bank of the Missouri River. |
We are at Jerry's game. |
It was FREEZING that weekend, but we stuck it out. |
This is a statue near the Wash U. campus. The boys say it looks like the horse is pooping. |
One of the weekends we went to St. Louis, we met Vlado and Milé Kanazirev, our Bulgarian friends. Here is a picture at the Kirkwood farmer's market we visited before the Kanazirev's got to St. Louis. |
We took the Kanazirev's to the St. Louis Botanical Garden. There was a Dale Chihuly glass exhibit there. This is a piece hanging in the main building. |
Here we are with Vlado and Mile. |
Fabulous plants. |
Joe and Dave were bored. |
There were ponds with statues and huge Chihuly glass balloons floating in the water. |
Under the dome you can see in the background is a tropical setting. |
The glass mixed in with the plants was gorgeous. |
Now we are in the tropical dome. Enjoy some pictures of the glass and flora. |

These pieces of glass art were for sale and priced at about $30,000 each. |
GO LSU yeah!!! |
She's not for sale. |
Mile really enjoyed the flowers. |
Way in the back, there is a Japanese style bridge. Underneath is a piece of glass hanging beneath the bridge. |
Here is a closer photo of that glass chandelier under the bridge. |
Ducks on the pond. |
Huge koi in the pond wanted food. |
So did the ducks. |
Look at the sunburst above the trellis in the rose garden! |
We ate in an Italian restaurant on the Hill. If you stood up and left the table, the waiters would come along and fold your napkin in a fancy manner. Joey put it on his head like a hat. |
We went over to St. Charles for breakfast on Sunday morning. |
