Judy had a chance to go to Costa Rica this fall. She took this photo with her phone. Marival Bermejo and Jim Polli. |

Gordon Amidon |
We had a free day on Sunday before the course, and went to this coffee plantation -- Doka Estates. |

Jim Polli and Helgi Jung wait for the van to take us to the auditorium. |
Gordon was trying to take a photo of all of us using Marival's camera. |
This was my room. It was an adequate, but not luxurious room. This fridge was so noisy that I unplugged it for the duration of my stay. |
I didn't have a closet. I just had this rack by the door for my clothes. Helgi had the room next to mine, and she didn't have a closet either. |
My room overlooked the driveway to the hotel. There were beautiful flowers all over the place. The hotel is called the Bird of Paridise. |
While I was waiting for the van, I noticed this fig tree growing next to the driveway. It even had figs on it, although they were not yet ripe. |
Jim Polli with a Erick from Panama. He celebrated his 26th birthday during the course. |
Jim with a woman from Peru (I forget her name.) |
Jim with Regina Pezoa. Regina is from Chile and was the one who organized the courses in Chile. |
We went to a restaurant on top of a mountain just south of San José. The city looked beautiful from the restaurant, but it was difficult to get a good photo in the dark. |
This restaurant catered to tourists. There was a buffet dinner with typical Costa Rican foods, and then there was a show with traditional dancing. |

On the last day, the students invited us out for an evening of dancing. You can see Jimbo and Gordon having a good time. |

Marival loves to cha cha cha. We always try to find some place for her to go. |
