Geof and Judy visited Kansas City to go see some Jazz. We left the boys home alone for one night. We couldn't get a tour of the Boulevard Brewery because it was booked, but we stopped by for a couple of pictures. |
Here is some of the brewery. We did get to go on a tour later in the summer when we came back with Joey and David. |
Here we are at Cabela's, a sporting goods store. |
The gun collection was awesome (Judy yawns). |
There are lots of stuffed animals everywhere. |
A shooting gallery. |
A huge aquarium with game fish. The bass must weigh 5 or 6 pounds. |
An impressive log hotel is right next to Cabela's. |
We drove over to the baseball stadium looking for souvenirs, but everything was closed. We brought the boys back for a baseball game later in the summer. |
Judy got some t-shirts down at 18th and Vine, which is a historic jazz district housing a jazz museum. She got both a short sleeved and a long sleeved one. She works for jazz year-round. |
We took Joey and David to Kansas City for a weekend of fun over the summer. First, we visited Cabela's sporting goods store. It must be Joey's favorite place! |
Judy points out some the stuff. |
David tries out a camoflage chair. |
Judy can just fit in it. |
Outside were some pretty impressive deer statues. |
Back in town, some places in Kansas City have modern art. |
David is trying to enjoy the scenery from the car. |
Joey is NUTS about the scenery! |
Here we are at the science museum. Judy is getting up all her nerve to ride a bike on a tightrope. |
There she goes!!! It was really scary riding backwards on the tightrope, even though your brain tells you that you can't fall. |
Don't look down. |
One of the exhibits at the museum. |
There was a traveling 9/11 exhibit while we were there. It had a lot of memorabilia from the attack. |
Joey and David are not that patient waiting for Mom. |
Coming home, the temperature outside the car was 106 degrees. Good thing we got the air conditioner fixed (it broke just as we got to Kansas City, and we were lucky to get it fixed quickly). |
