Judy and Geof drove about 4 hours east into Arkansas to a small tourist town, Eureka Springs, which is a lovely spot in the Ozarks. Judy sees if the bed in our hotel room is big enough for her. |
Very nice, antique-looking furnishings. |
The hotel has no elevators, but the walk up the stairs is worth it. |
The town is nestled in the Ozark mountains. |
Beautiful scenery everywhere you look. |
Behind the window is a taffy pulling machine working away. Neat! |
Town square. |
This is looking down the street from the balcony of the cafe. |
Geof knows how to use the camera timer. |
Looking a different direction. The streets all over the town look like this. |
More scenery. |

We stopped in a studio for a silly picture! |

Geof was surprised when Judy agreed to do this. |
One of the small shops offering lots of wares. |
A statue of something up there. |
We drove just a couple of miles from Eureka Springs to see "Jesus of the Ozarks". |
This is a view looking back toward Eureka Springs from the "Jesus of the Ozarks" statue. The large building on the skyline is the Cresent Hotel. We drove over there later that day. |
Another tourist took a picture for us. |
We drove around Eureka Springs some just looking for interesting sites. |
If you look right between the trees, you can see the "Jesus of the Ozarks" statue on the skyline. |
This is looking down the hill from the Cresent Inn. We ate breakfast there. |
Judy sits up on the balcony after breakfast enjoying the view. |
More scenery from the Cresent Inn. |
A set of steps for the cat to go in the little cat door on the back porch of the Cresent Inn. Funny! |
We left Eureka Springs for a few sights on the way home. First, we went by Beaver Lake. One of the prettiest lakes we have ever seen nestled in the Ozark mountains. |
Going across Beaver Lake dam. |
The swimming area. I bet its cold!! |
A picnic area. |
Judy stands near the crystal clear water. |
We decided to go horseback riding. Judy hadn't been on a horse since our honeymoon (20 years ago). |
The stable. |
Judy on her horse. |
Leaving the stable area. |
The sign along the trail reads: "Cats have nine lives. Here lies Roy Belts. Nine wives. Ann Donna Lu Linda June Maria Kay Bertie Mary". |
Following Judy along the river bed. |
Geof's horse was handsome. That goes for Geof, too. |
