Here is a scan of the charcoal picture that we had made in Central Park of Joey and David. It now hangs in our sunroom.

David is goofing around.

Back in 2001, Geof flattened a spot in the back yard for a shed. As dirt began to pile up against the high side of the shed, we realized we needed a retaining wall to keep that from happening, so Geof rented a digger to dig for a wall.

There are a lot of controls on those things. Its like a video game. Here's Geof trying to get used to the controls.

Still trying to figure it out.

Here's how the scoop looks.

After digging the face of the wall and putting up railroad ties, Geof needed to move the dirt up the hill, so he rented a scooper.

Pick it up at the bottom.....

Drop it off at the top.

Here's a view of the wall nearly complete. We enventually took the landscaping timbers off the top and added some more rows of railroad ties.

It was a tough job, but we had fun with the machines!

A view from our deck in the back of the house.

Judy and David love to cook. Here's a tasty treat they made - cake roulade. It's made of thinly sliced cake covered with a creamy filling made mostly of CoolWhip, then rolled up. It didn't last very long.

Judy made a Chinese favorite from scratch - Cha shu bau - roast pork buns. It wasn't as pretty as the kind you get in restaraunts in New York, but it was just as tasty.

Here's a duck dish inspired by Alton Brown, a chef on the Food Channel.

Geof smoked many things this year. Here's a smoked turkey.

We got this Galileo's thermometer at Cabela's in Kansas City, and it now sits on Judy's piano. It gives a rough indication of the temperature according to which balls sink and which float.

We woke up one morning to find our house wrapped. Joey's friends were the culprits.

Another view of the wrapping.

Jerry is dressed up for a high school event.

Joey in his paint ball gear. All you can see are his beautiful eyes!

Joey build a trebuchet for his science class at school. A trebuchet is a medieval 'engine' for hurling heavy missiles, more commonly called a catapult.

Here is Joey sitting on a corner table that he made for his room.

Mom and Dad dressed up for a Valentine party at church.

Vern and Paula Johnson sat with us...

...along with Donna and Jason Coffey.

Here is our crazy dog, Sheba. We had a tough time with fleas last summer, and she had just been dipped in a flea dip that turned her yellow.
