Geof and I went to the AIChE Annual Meeting in San Francisco in November. We loved the cable cars! We headed off to the north to see Fisherman's Wharf.
...and Ghirardelli Square We ran into John McKetta on Sunday. He was rushing off to catch a plane, but took a minute to have a photo taken. Dr. McKetta and Judy met on an airport shuttle after the AIChE meeting in Los Angeles several years ago!
Judy participated in a forum for women engineers during the student conference. Afterwards, we went to lunch at a nearby Japanese restaurant. Here's a rare photo of Judy wearing.... earrings! It was a little rainy and cold on this first day in San Francisco.
At Fisherman's Wharf, there is a "Ripley's Believe It or Not" museum. We couldn't believe that people would have taken the time to carve ivory like this! There was an exhibit with funny grave stones.
While walking along, we saw this great ladies' tee shirt. It said, "Will sell husband for chocolate." The equivalent for men said, "Will sell wife for beer."
This was along one of the piers at Fisherman's Wharf. We can never resist looking at engines. I guess that's because we're .... engineers!
