Hanauma bay. We took a tour of the Oahu while we were in Honolulu. Notice that we are wearing shorts. It was late January, and the rest of the country was freezing!
We learned that married women wear flowers on the left side, and single women wear flowers on the right side. We took a ship out to a submarine so we could see under the water without having to figure out how to snorkel. That's Diamond Head crate is on the horizon. We stayed in Waikiki.
Here's handsome Geof in his 'aloha' shirt. We took this submarine tour just a little way off the southern coast of Oahu.
This is the submarine. Saturday morning, we got up and decided to climb to the top of Diamond Head. Here's Geof at the bottom in the middle of Diamond Head crater. We left from here to hike up to the top of the ridge.
Judy poses at the entry way to the steep hiking trail that leads to the top of the ridge. Judy stops on the way up Diamond Head. It was a long hike.
There was a section of stairs going up to Diamond Head. It was very dark, so we took a photo with the flash so we could see where we were walking for a nanosecond. A view of Waikiki from Diamond Head. Our hotel is to the left of that small pink hotel.
View from the top of Diamond Head. View from the top of Diamond Head.
View from near the top of Diamond Head going back down. There was a replica of a Japanese temple, Byodo-In Temple, on our tour of the island.
This is on the northern shore of Oahu, where the surfers hang out. We went to Waimea Falls Park and saw crazy divers jumping off the cliff.
Judy relaxes in Waimea Falls Park. Davey has a collection of shirts from Mommy's travels. He likes to wear this one to church.
