The boys want to visit every major league ballpark in
the country. We visited some parks during our travels in 2002. Here we
are at Fenway Park in Boston. |
 |
The Boston Red Sox mascot made an appearance near us
at the stadium. |
One of the best adventures we had was at the science
museum in Boston. Here, Judy and Dave examine a complex engine. |
 |
One of the sights in the downtown area of Boston was
this old church. |
 |
 |
Mom was just coming back from the rest room, when the
boys insisted on covering up her eyes. Then when they positioned her in
front of the bug display, they laughed at her initial reaction. |
 |
Geof was giving a lecture at Universal Oil Products
in Chicago where his good friend Vlado Kanazirev works, so he took Judy
along so they could visit with the Kanazirevs. Here's Judy with Vlado
and Milé at Wrigley Field. |
With the famous Harey Carey. "Take me out to the
ballgame....." |
 |
Judy is looking around the basement at Vlado and Milé's
home. The basement is set up like a disco. |
 |
 |
Wrigley Field. One of the sights we saw in Chicago. |
 |
We spent a night in Oklahoma City then drove down to
Duncan to visit relatives. Aunt Betty took us out to the Chisolm Trail
Museum in Duncan. Betty is the widow of Geof's Uncle Stu. |
Here's Dad with Aunt Peggy. Peggy is the widow of Geof's
Uncle Ken. |
 |
Aunt Betty helped us find the Koeninger grave, then
took us to a different cemetery to see the Price graves. |
 |
 |
Here's our whole family in front of the house where
the Keoningers used to live in Duncan. Geof's Mom lived in this house
as she grew up. |
 |
Shea Stadium was one of the baseball stadiums we visited
this summer. |
Ground Zero is not something you really want to see,
but you have to. We were heartened to see a cross put up at the site. |
 |
Judy was saddened to see the devastation at ground zero
and all the businesses negatively affected by the restricted access and
lost workers. |
 |
 |
We saw a fire truck in the ground zero area and couldn't
resist taking a picture. |
 |
We took a tour boat from South Street Seaport that ran
around the southern end of Manhattan Island. We could see where the World
Trade Center used to be. |
The tour boat goes near the Statue of Liberty. Here,
Dave allowed me to take a picture of him. |
 |
We decided to take a Yankee Stadium tour so we could
see all the places we never could see before. Here we are looking out
over the stadium from the press box. What a view! |
 |
 |
This is a monument in the Yankee Stadium memorial area.
There's no more famous player than the Babe. |
 |
The boys got tired of Geof taking pictures during the
Yankee Stadium tour, but Joey finally stood still for this one. |
Here's a view of some of Bricktown in Oklahoma City.
It's been refurbished, with a small canal that was dug out of one of the
streets. Many shops and restaurants are there, with plans for more in
the near future. |
 |
We got on a tour boat in Bricktown, and a jazz flute
player playing at Bourbon Street Cafe hopped on board for a short part
of the ride. |
 |
 |
This is a view of the Oklahoma City Red Hawks AAA baseball
team. |
 |
While we were in NYC, we went to Madame Tussaud's Wax
Museum on 42nd St. Elliot Allen (Judy's nephew) joined us for this outing.
Here they are posing with the great "Bambino", Babe Ruth. |
The wax statues were all out in the open. Unlike the
museum in London, where the 'dolls' are in cases. The head and hands are
made out of wax. Real strands of hair are painstakingly placed individually. |
 |
Jerry and Joey standing with the great evangelist, Billy
Graham. |
 |
 |
Jerry had a great time with this photo! Jerry with his
arm around the gorgeous Elle McPherson. Doesn't he look happy? |
 |
How can we resist standing next to the brilliant Albert?
|
"Listen, Bill..... changing one NIC shouldn't be
a reason to have to re-register Office XP." |
